Michael Turchyn Sr (Mike)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mike Turchyn at the age of 92. Born in Vancouver BC, his family settled in the Aldergrove area of the Fraser Valley. Greeting you with a warm smile and firm handshake, he was well respected in the community and a proud farmer for 52 years. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 68 years Monica; daughters Lynda, Sandra; sons Michael Jr., Mark (Mya) and Randy; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and a large extended family. A celebration of life will be held in the new year.

Glen Valley Watershed Society - An update was provided regarding the Non-Farm Use granted to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTi) to expand the 4.15 ha Bradner Rest Area onto an adjacent 2.73 ha forest and Nathan Creek portion of the property along Highway #1, accessible west bound between the Mt Lehman and 264th Street exits. The property is entirely in the Agriculture Land Reserve.

The area appears to be a pretty big mess including replacement works are being completed at the nearby overpasses.
