In previous years Brander Elementary School teachers facilitated the Bradner Barker Reporter Program - where they assigned one (or two) student(s) to write articles about different field trips/events within the school, or poems, farm stories etc. - which helped the student(s) practice writing skills, while also receiving notarization by being published and instilling a strong sense of belonging and contribution with their community. In turn, the older generations within both the Bradner and Mt Lehman communities really enjoy the connectedness they have while hearing about the many things happening that they support by supporting and attending PAC fundraising events and Bradner School hosted events such as the annual Remembrance Day tea. Which then inspires more community support for both the PAC and the school. So, on behalf of The Bradner Barker, the community of Bradner and the Bradner PAC, I am asking that the 'Bradner Student Reporter' program be continued to keep the strong connection we enjoy here in Bradner maintained : ) The more connected we all are as a community the greater things we are all able to do for our communities children - Bradner's own next generation!
