Joseph C. Shields, Student of Rick Hansen Secondary School
Living in the Bradner area and as a former Bradner Elementary student, I can say that I loved Bradner. I've always loved the area. And the school plays a key part in keeping the Bradner tradition alive. After Bradner I went to Eugene Reimer Middle School. Which was a mostly positive experience, of course any school has their flaws but I would say Eugene Reimer, being smaller is still a good school by all means.

Doug Taylor - Mt Lehman BC - Taylor Insurance update - the business was, is, and will CONTINUE to be OPEN! If you are wondering about the for sale signs - the office is moving to shop space around the corner at 30004 Taylor Road in late May 2021. A recent Mt. Lehman news letter accidentally published an error indicating that Taylor Insurance is closing - this is not true. Taylor Insurance will remain open for a very long time. Thank you!
Bill Vander Zalm & Rick Green - South Fraser Community Rail, MESSAGE to our BC Government. 'Bringing you Hydrogen Passenger Rail to the Fraser Valley'. #ConnectTheValley!
British Columbia Direct Democracy Party - Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently gave $595 million to 'qualifying' journalists. Shortly thereafter the corona pandemic struck leading to a critical need for ventilators. Ventilators cost $10,000 each and BC has a shortage. $595 million is enough to buy 60,000 ventilators. If asked, would BC voters be more likely to support giving $595 million to journalists or would they rather that money be spent on ventilators for hospitals during the most disruptive pandemic in history? We'll never know because voters were never given a say in the matter.
Bill Vander Zalm, Abbotsford BC - Dear Mayor Braun, As best as I can, I have been following your comments about the proposed “South Fraser Community Rail.” Your questioning of the work being done by this hard-working volunteer group, which has the livability of the Fraser Valley as its’ primary objective, is welcome, but unfortunately not based on facts. You obviously are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts.
Wetlands Threatened by Expanding Industustrial Developments on Langley and Abbotsford Border5/7/2019 Brit Gardner - I went for a Langley walk yesterday along the West Creek headwaters, in Gloucester Industrial Estates. Close to where I grew up. Thanks to the beavers, these wetlands are a beautiful, thriving, and complete ecosystem. The creek headwaters are home to salmon spawning, geese, ducks, rare and migratory birds, rabbits, and countless other wildlife.
David de Wit, Abbotsford, BC - One of the brightest pockets of educational innovation is just down the road from us. Rick Hansen Secondary School of Science and Business has quietly been transforming the educational landscape of secondary schools over the last 3 years.
Way to go City of Abbotsford. You've decided to support an application that will destroy a community, pollute a salmon spawning creek and obliterate an area that is environmentally fragile. It's ok though because your friend Ron Emerson will make millions of dollars.
By Don Burke, MD, FRCPC, FACP - Dear Mayor Braun and Abbotsford City Council Members, This letter is on behalf of the physicians of Abbotsford and like-minded professionals.
It is my understanding that city council is intending to vote on whether to remove two parcels of land, one near the airport (Plan B), and the other in Bradner (Plan A), from ALR protection in order to allow industrial development. I also understand that there is a public hearing scheduled for July 17th at city hall regarding this topic. |
