Bradner has lost one of its most beloved residents with the passing of Mary Fatkin on December 14th, 2015 at the age of 90. Mary was a hard worker who loved her community and family. She was close to her grandkids and spoke fondly of them, having been very lucky to live right next door to two of them for most of their lives. She loved the laughter and life that the grandkids brought to her home, which she shared with husband Les. Her love of community was evident, as she worked quietly, often forgoing the accolades of someone front and centre, preferring to stay in the background. People who knew her were well aware of how very much she contributed to our community.

Bradner Community Club will once again be hosting their annual family Christmas party on Sunday December 20th, 2015 from 2 - 5 pm @ the Bradner Hall. RSVP not required. There will be lots to do for the little ones, Santa, crafts and two amazing balloon artists. Snacks and refreshments will be available for all. This event is free and open to all families in the community, but we would like to support our local food bank, so donations of food or cash are much appreciated. Hope to see you there! Bradner, BC - On December 7th, 2015 at about 8 pm neighbours in the 58th Avenue and Beatty Road were alerted by the sound of many sirens. Bystanders witnessed 11 firetrucks, 2 police cars and a fire department command post truck attending a property on the north side of 58th Avenue, west of Beatty Street. Huge spot lights were set up to illuminate the whole driveway, field and barn on the property. Upon arrival, one neighbour said he was told by bystanders that it was a barn fire... but there was no visible flames, smoke or heat. For hours, motorists were unable to pass through both directions on 58th Avenue including Beatty Street. If you have any further info please email The Bradner Barker.
Bradner, BC - The K-5 instead of K-7 issue was posted in a recent Barker article on the subject of the Abbotsford School Districts Plan to re-configure rural Abbotsford schools, including Bradner and Mt Lehman. An online petition has been launched by Jared White from Abbotsford, Canada called Save our K-7 Schools and a downloadable version is also available for print. The website states important facts to consider about this plan for our rural farm community's children.
