Industrial Land Supply Study - OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC INPUT – PROPOSED ALR EXCLUSION The public is invited to provide feedback to Abbotsford City Council at 7 PM on July 17, 2017, in the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium (MCA), 32315 South Fraser Way, Abbotsford, BC, regarding the potential exclusion of 115 parcels in the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR) totaling 283 hectares / 699.3 acres. These parcels have been identified for potential industrial growth through the City’s Industrial Land Supply Study. At the Public Hearing, all persons who believe their interest in the property is affected by the proposed exclusion will be afforded a reasonable opportunity to be heard or to present written submissions respecting matters related to the subject of the hearing. Project information may be inspected in the Planning Services Division (2nd Floor), Abbotsford City Hall, 32315 South Fraser Way, Abbotsford, BC, during regular business hours, 8:30am – 4:30pm. If you have any questions, please contact Planning Services Staff at 604-864-5510. The City of Abbotsford is looking at excluding West Bradner and Southeast Mt Lehman from the ALR for Industrial use. West Bradner is located East of Gloucester Industrial Estate, and the Trans-Canada Highway. Agricultural activity, including hay, blueberry, small-scale vegetable production, pasture and grape production, is primarily located in the southern portion of West Bradner. The Southeast Mt Lehman portion is located between the Peardonville and Clearbrook Industrial Areas and Abbotsford International Airport. Who is the developer pushing this? This very alarming. Look at what happened with (formerly rural, now insustrial) land in MRidge, folks. I think that was Onni - not exactly model corporate citizens . In any event, the city there didn't even follow the OCP it misled the public into believing. Now the warehouse/industrial areas have spread way beyond what was allowed in the OCP. It's going to happen in Abby and greedy politicians/developers are doing the same with South Langley. When will the greed and madness stop?
