CANCELLED Bradner Flower Show 2020

It is with sad hearts that we announce the 92nd Annual Bradner Flower Show has been cancelled due to the health concerns of the COVID19 pandemic. Proceeds from this event were set go to the Abbotsford Regional Hospital. In 2019, the club raised and donated $10,000 to the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation to help buy a new CT Scanner. This year our hospital will need the support more than ever, so in lieu of the event we are hosting a Hanging Basket Fundraiser and a Daffodil Bulb Fundraiser Thank you for your support!

 Bradner Flower Show History...

In 1928, 92 years ago, Fenwick Fatkin started the Bradner Flower Show. The first Flower Show took place in his living room, or parlor, as it was then called. It was modeled after the very popular parlor shows that were held in his native England. When the show was in its beginnings, there were only 10 types of daffodils on display. Today there are over 400. When Fenwick & Charlotte Fatkin moved to our area from England via Vancouver, he recognized right away that the area’s climate and soil would be perfect for growing daffodils. This year will mark the 92nd year the show has been in existence. The Bradner Flower Show is one of the most revered traditions in Bradner’s long list of historic and community events. This year’s show will celebrate "A Place to Dream”. Amazingly, members of the Fatkin family still farm daffodils in Bradner and are still actively volunteering at the show! In fact, Pauline Isherwood (nee Fatkin), granddaughter of Fenwick is the show’s chairperson – quite a legacy!
