By Brian Kingman Bradner BC - Are you in the dark about what to expect or who the candidates are in the next federal election? I hope this message helps solve the mystery of where we now vote and who the candidates are. On October 19th, 2015, two months from now, residents of North & South Abbotsford will cast their vote to who they support. Here is a quick overview of the majority of Abbotsford Rural Ratepayers candidates. One candidate we won’t have is the Honourable Ed Fast, as he leaves our new riding to run in another new riding; named Abbotsford. Our new riding of Mission – Matsqui – Fraser Canyon starts just north of the High Street shopping centre and West to Bradner Road at Sandpiper, meanders south along Goldfinch and meets up with Maclure at Blue Jay and then East along Maclure to Hwy #11 (Abbotsford -Mission) then East again along Bateman to Wright Road to Clayburn Road & Clayburn Village then skirting Sumas Mountain North, encompassing Harrison angling to Boston Bar and North to Lytton & Lillooet. Click here to view the map. The Abbotsford Candidates are, in no particular order: Conservative – Brad Vis Liberal – Jatinder Sidhu NDP – Dennis Adamson Green – Arthur Green Independent - Wyatt Scott Voters on the West side of Bradner Road, starting at the Trans-Canada Highway, North to the Fraser, will not be in this riding and will choose from Langley candidates The Langley – Aldergrove riding boundaries are: starting at Zero Ave & Mt. Lehman Road – West side, North to the Freeway and beyond West. That means for all you pioneer types like me, Peardonville, South Ross (By the East Aldergrove Community Church), Simpson Road (Walter Fowels old gravel pit), Aberdeen – South Bradner (to Chuck Denny’s), Lefeuvre Road, both sides of the Freeway... are all now in Langley –Aldergrove federal riding. The Aldergrove – Langley candidates are in no particular order: Green – Simi Dhillon NDP – Margot Sangster Liberal –Leon Jensen Conservative – Mark Warawa Hope this article helps... I have no idea if the Bradner Hall will be used as a polling station. I could see that being very confusing, unless Elections Canada designates it a dual riding poll station.
